Organize Your Final Cut Pro Media With Master Libraries
Adobe Premiere Pro will open the folder on your hard drive that contains the media file and highlight it. This can be very useful if you are working with media files stored on multiple hard drives or if you have renamed your clips in Adobe Premiere Pro.

In an ELEMENTS shared storage environment, we recommend placing media cache files onto a dedicated SSD volume that every editor will have access to. The location of the Media Cache folder can be set in Edit/Preferences/Media Cache. The files can be deleted after a certain time period or the oldest files overwritten after the cache reaches set size.
I’ve covered some of these points in other posts, but it’s good to revisit workflow habits. Adobe Premiere does a great job of working with mixed media in a single timeline. I am going to use a few examples that are specific to Premiere Pro, however it’s worth noting that these tips apply to just about any video editing application that you may be working in. I work in a variety of NLEs, from Final Cut Pro X to Premiere to Avid, and each of them are able to deal with media/project management in their own way.

That post focused on how to archive the editing files in order to retain all the source assets for a project, as well as to organize them in a way that will aid localization editors.
When these are imported, there is no dynamic linking between the two projects. Premiere Pro works better when ALL of the media is in a single common format, like DNxHD/HR or ProRes. However, for most productions, the transcoding time involved would be unacceptable.

The second option is to create a new project for each location and them import media from the master project using Media Browser. This is Adobe’s built-in module that enables the editor to access files, bins, and sequences from inside other Premiere Pro projects.
How do you create a new bin?
Premiere Pro creates a folder on your hard disk at the start of each project. By default, this is where it stores the files it captures, the preview and conformed audio files it creates, and the project file itself.
